What was your second trip to Russia Like? (AKA: Going to get Cohen - Part 1)

So I know you are all dying to hear more about our adventures in Russia. I’m going to try to put all the info from the second trip (AKA: Going to Get Cohen) on the blog.

Our first day on the second trip! We are waiting now for our flight in New Orleans. We are so excited!! I’m so nervous that I didn’t pack everything I needed – oh well, too late now.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are! In just a few days we will have our son in our arms and we never have to let him go!

Today has been great so far! Last night Meme and Big Al came to stay with us and they took us to IHOP for breakfast. Then Nan, Pops and Uncle Awesome came to take us to the airport. We had a quick (and light) meal at McAlisters.

We have such good friends here in LaPlace! Missy stopped by earlier to wish us luck. She had Molly and Aaron with her. They are all super excited about meeting our boy. Later this afternoon, right before we left, Scarlett came by and she had some fun travel stuff for us. She gave us all earplugs for the plane, to help with the pressure, and she also had a very cute valentines card for the boy. Inside the card, she put a picture of Stella and on the back she wrote “my friend Stella.” What a neat idea! I put it in the suitcase so that our little boy can get to know his friends before he even gets to America.

I know we still have a long day ahead of us (about 30 hours of travel time), but we are so excited!

We are now at the airport in Incheon, South Korea. This is my favorite airport ever! They have wonderful shopping, free wifi, and American Restaurants. It’s about 6:15am here and our flight leaves at 10:10am so we have some time to spare.

Check the date! Yep. That means we will be in the air during the Super Bowl!! Can you believe it…the Saints finally make it and we won’t be able to watch any of the game! Hopefully we can catch the score when we land in Russia.

The last flight was about 13 hours. The first 10 hours weren’t so bad, but the last 3 were pure torture. Reminded me of my half marathon.

I cannot wait until we get to see our sweet boy tomorrow!!

We made it to Russia! We are now in our room at the Vlad Inn. It’s nice room. We have one small room with a crib in it, another room with a double bed and a living room area with another double bed (I guess that’s where Jace can sleep if he makes me angry…hehe). We have a kitchen with all the necessities and a dining table.

Of course the first thing we did when we got here was check the score on the super bowl. We now know that our Saints won…yay!

The weather here is cold and there is snow everywhere! It’s so beautiful.

We also found out today that the hospital where Bogdan is staying had a huge chicken pox outbreak a month or so ago. All the babies got it…poor kids! And poor care takers! They say that Bogdan is doing much better now.

We also met another family with our agency here to pick up their 15 month old daughter. I’m so happy another American family will be here with us the entire time we are here. We will actually go to court on the same day and get our babies at the same time! Very exciting!!

We get to go see Bogdan tomorrow!! Yay!
