We made it through the first night. Yay! Cohen did great! Around 7:30pm we put him in his bed in his room. He cried. We went back in and rubbed his belly and sang to him then left again. He cried. So then we decided to just move his bed into our room. Think about it, this kid has probably never been left in a room alone. I was not interested in breaking him into sleeping alone last night. But we were also not about to start having him sleep in the bed with us. He’s never done that either, so not going to do that now.
Anyway, we put his bed at the end of our bed. Jace rubbed his belly for a little while, then he went right to sleep. Since we were both in there and we had such a crazy day, we decided to just go to sleep with him. Yes, we are all in the bed at about 8pm.
He sucks his thumb. This is something I didn’t know until last night. It was so dark in the room, so we couldn’t see anything, but we could hear him.
He only woke up once. I have no idea what time it was, but I went to rub his belly to try to get him back to sleep and his feet were where his head originally was. Oh well. He went right back to sleep.
Jace woke up around 5:30am. Yes, it was early, but remember we went to bed at 8pm. Jace was begging to wake him up so that he could play with him. I told him he had to wait until at least 7am to wake him up. I didn’t want to start any strange wakeup/sleep patterns while we were in Russia. So now we are just waiting for Cohen to wake up or for Jace’s impatience to get the best of him and he go wake up the poor boy.
Oh and I think he knows his name too. Last night while we were playing, we would call him by name and he would look at us and run toward us. He’s going to catch on to this new stuff so quick!
Of course, we had to let everyone know which team we supported.
