Are you ready for some more angry pictures?

Well, I’m sure you enjoyed all the pictures from yesterday’s post. Here are a few more.
We will start with the cake! The wind was blowing so hard we couldn’t get the candles to stay lit. I love Cohen’s face in this picture!!
And how does a 4 year old eat cake??
Next up: Presents!
Stella showed me how to decorate the card she picked out for Cohen. We did decorate that card, and never took pictures of the finished product. It was a lot of fun!

Now for what was my favorite moment of the party…My boy did a flip on the waterslide! Remember last year, how all the adults had fun with this. Well this year, Cohen showed us all that he could do it too!

I’m one proud mama! The party was so much fun! The fun started around 10:00Am and the last guest left around 9:00PM. We ordered pizza, made homemade ice cream, and played until the kids couldn’t play any longer. It was a wonderful day! Can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Are you ready for some angry pictures?

Ok. So no angry pictures here, for real, because the party was just so much fun.

Ah, the return of Cohen’s Kid wash. It was so much fun last year, we just had to bring it back.

Nan and Pops got the Angry Bird shirt memo. I’m glad, they looked super cute wearing the birds!

Here are the Allen girls. I’m always super excited when any of my family comes to visit. It’s a long 5 hour drive to my house, but they did it just for Cohen’s party. (L to R: Emily, Joani, Mom, Mitzi).

Abbah got the angry bird shirt memo too!! Doesn’t she look adorable. Of course, Aunt Carla and Uncle John look super adorable too!

Check out this little cutie in her angry bird shirt. Brue is the newest member of our extended family, and she fits in just fine!

While they may not be sporting bird shirts, this is one adorable little family. Brian, Katie, Katherine and Grant had a great time at the party. Look at those happy faces!

The kids went from the slide to the kid wash and back again. Here are a few pictures of the kids in the kid wash.

Are you angry?

A few months ago, when I started planning my amazing kid’s 4th birthday party, I asked him what theme he would like to go with for the party this year. His immediate answer was “Angry Birds.” I was a little shocked by his answer. He loves the game, but I thought for sure he would go with Buzz, Woody, Batman, or Shrek. Nope. He picked Angry Birds, so that’s what we went with.

Here are a few of the party decorations. Angry Birds is a super easy party, because it is basically primary colors (red, blue, yellow, and green). I got balloons and streams and went to town!

Jace was responsible for the cake. He’s an amazing cake decorator. A few years ago, I would have never guessed this was one of his talents, but he surprises me more and more everyday.

Check out these cute little pigs!!

More pictures of the cake coming later, but here is my contribution to the sweets at Cohen’s party. Once again, I made cupcakes in ice cream cones.

Here’s a picture of the finished cake! I told you he’s talented! In the back, you can see the gift bags I made. There were angry birds everywhere!

More pictures of the actual party coming later.

Can you believe he’s 4 years old?

Well, way back in June, my little boy turned 4. Since his actual birthday fell on a Monday this year, we celebrated, just the two of us, for most of the day.

Cohen and I have a little tradition, where every now and then, for really special days, we have what we call a “Yes Day!” A “Yes Day” is a day where when Cohen asks for something, I just say “yes.” (Of course, it can’t be anything dangerous, but he’s a great kid and he didn’t ask for anything to bad.)

His first request was a chocolate muffin for breakfast. Cohen LOVES to make muffins. He’s so good at it! (Notice my Celebrate Plate!). An Allen Family Tradition is to have a candle in the first meal of the day on your birthday. Cohen managed to stretch this out so that he had a candle in every meal for the day.

He wanted to eat his muffin, in his play room, while watching a movie. Of course, I said “yes.”

How old are you today?

Mac and Cheese and crackers for lunch? Yes, of course. And with a candle, yes!

Jace and I got him a hulk action figure for his birthday. He’s really into the Avengers right now, and Hulk is his favorite (probably because he can relate to him the best…this boy acts just like the Hulk sometimes).

It’s not a birthday if there’s no cake, so when Jace got home later that night, he made Cohen a little cake.

“Mom, can I eat my cake?”
“Yes, of course dear.”
And so he did! Face first, the way every 4 year old should eat cake!

It was a wonderful birthday. I can’t wait to celebrate many, many more with this amazing kid!
